Natierra, a mission-driven company that offers unique superfoods, gourmet salts, and freeze-dried fruits and veggies to conscious consumers nationwide, recently launched a large-scale give-back project entitled Feed A Soul.
The idea behind the Feed a Soul Project emerged when founder and CEO, Ollivier Thierry was on a mango sourcing trip to Haiti. There, Thierry witnessed beauty and laughter but also the dire conditions some Haitians are living in. In fact, most people in Haiti live on less than $1 a day, some having very little to eat.
Thierry decided to do something to help kids who need it, partnering with the NGO Convoy of Hope, a faith based organization with a driving passion to feed the world and a long history as an early responder in times of natural disasters.
The project provides 1 meal to a kid in Haiti in need, with the every purchase of a bag of Natierra Himalania Superfoods. This impacts 20+ nutrient-dense superfoods the company sells in Whole Foods and other national retailers, from Organic Cacao Powder and Nibs to antioxidant-rich raw and chocolate-covered Goji Berries, Fair Trade Chia Seeds and protein-packed Hemp Seeds. The goal of the project is to give 1,000,000 meals to children in need in Haiti by 2018.
“The objective of our ‘Feed A Soul’ Project is to turn everyday purchases into lifelong impact on children,” says Ollivier. “We want to give customers a chance to play a part in changing a child’s life, one purchase at a time. Natierra’s mission is to offer innovative and high-quality Superfoods that give back to social and environmental causes, a mission reflected in our tagline, ‘Superfoods with Soul’.”
The Feed A Soul project helps keep children at school, get jobs on graduation, support their own families and break a cycle of poverty
