Dillanos Coffee Roasters brings us a delicious morning cup of coffee, Kenyan Kikai Peaberry from the Mt. Elgon District of Kenya.
Mount Elgon is an extinct shield volcano that is the oldest and largest solitary volcano in East Africa, providing fertile soil to grow coffee. The farmers kn Kikai planted their first coffee trees in 1959. Since then, this co-op has built two washing stations in the region. The proximity to the washing stations allows the farmers to hand pick ripe cherries and deliver them to the wet mill the same day, maintaining the quality of the coffee as it is processes. This lot was separated during milling for exceptional flavor.
