Primula Flavor Now System

An Infusion of Fun and Refreshment with Primula Flavor Now System

As I look at our window I see the plums ripening, the birds darting to and fro, and kids out on their bikes. Clearly summer is upon us, and so it is time to ring in some of my favorite refreshing summer recipes.

Infusing water, tea and alcohol with the flavors of the season is more popular than ever, especially when they are a healthy substitute to sugary alternatives.

I always love refreshing beverages in the summer, and lately, I’ve been whipping up a bunch using the new Primula Flavor Now. Instant infusion is what it is all about. The Primula Flavor Now, puts the flavor in the water, tea and alcohol almost immediately, without the wait.

From water to wine, we’ve been experimenting with simple single fruit infusions, as well as those more complex involving combining fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices.

Here is a bit about the Primula Flavor Now System:

  • 2.7-qt. capacity.
  • Includes an Instant Infusion Core: Just place fruits, herbs and spices inside, then use the Flavor Wand to muddle it and release the flavor.
  • The hollow rod, submerges into the liquid, infusing it with the full flavors of the season.
  • When finished infusing, replace the Infusion Core with the Ice Core and keep it cold.

Here are a few delicious suggestions for everything to refresh, detox, relax on the back porch, or just plain celebrate.

Refresh:

Fruit and herbal infusions are easy to make, and require only what you have on hand. A perfect way to hydrate and refresh yourself this summer, go a head and experiment with all the flavors the summer season has to offer.

  • Spice it up with herbs – rosemary, mint, or mix the tang of basil with watermelon.
  • Enjoy a simple concoction of sliced oranges and lemons. It is a refreshing blend that isn’t too overpowering.
  • A classic combination of flavors, the Lemon Mint Refresher is best when you start with chilled water and freshly cut lemons slices, but you can also use store-bought lemonade. If making from scratch, you can add sugar, agave, or honey to taste.
  • Enjoy a bubbly refresher with the Sparkling Ginger Mint Lemonade. Fill Primula with equal parts lemonade and sparkling water, then infuse with thin slices of ginger and a handful of mint.
  • Enjoy a taste tempting iced tea by infusing green tea with berries, then adding a bit of agave, or honey, to taste for sweetness.

Detox:

Enjoy a spa retreat’s treat right in  your own home. Forego the expensive detox packages, and make some delicious detox drinks right in your own home.

  • For a simple way to cleanse and revive, create a detox infusion with aniseed, fennel seed, cardamom, licorice root, coriander and celery seed and serve chilled.
  • Nettles, dandelion leaves, and birch leaves. The nettles purify the blood, boosts metabolism and stimulates circulation in the capillaries. Dandelion boost your metabolism, and is great for your liver and kidneys. Birch leaves are a diuretic, and aid in removing toxins

  • Match the smoky flavor of whisky, with fruit.
  • Homemade sangria is quick, easy and fun with the Flavor Now System.
  • After a long day in the sun infuse some dark rum with delicious pear, and vanilla bean.

It takes a bit of experimentation, but it’s FUN experimentation. This summer, Grab yourself the Primula Flavor Now System, and enjoy the infusing the flavors of season into your beverages.

Here is a delicious infused wine refresher that was inspired by a recent CSA delivery.
