The Kitchen Floor: A Roadmap of our Week (A Year in Our Kitchen)

KitchenFloor450

I’m pretty good about keeping the kitchen clean. Wiping the counters, putting away the dishes, scrubbing the boil-overs off the stove, but when it comes to the floor, things are a different story.

It drives me crazy, as no sooner do I clean it up, that something else finds Its way to the floor. I’m always feeling mounds of crumbs, wetness, and overally gooiness under my feet.

Be it coffee grounds, a sprinkle of flour, a drip of pancake batter, or the onions, lettuce and tomatoes that are left there in the heat of meal preparation, and then squished under the weight of our feet, at times, it is a true mess.

But for all the frustration of finding everything on the soles of my feet, the kitchen floor is a roadmap of what goes on in our kitchen daily — or weekly, depending on how often I clean it.

Perhaps it’s a badge of honor, a testament to the kitchen as a hub of activity, and a symbol of all that goes into creating the tasty meals that we put on our table.

Our  kitchen floor is a map to everything that goes on in our kitchen – we’re proud to share it with you.

What do you find beneath your feet?
