It’s getting warm outside, and now more than ever, it is time to hydrate and keep ourselves refreshed. You may be thinking lemonade, sparkling water, or smoothies to cool yourself down, but why not look to one of the trending flavors to get you through the heat – coconut!

When it comes to food and beverages, tropical flavors are hot right now, and in the beverage category, consumers are definitely crazy for coconut. With over 100 uses and widespread health benefits, the coconut is a true provider, and is appearing as an ingredient in water, juices, and cold coffee beverages.

The coconut is a nutritious source of meat, juice, milk, and oil that has fed and nourished populations around the world for generations. Coconut is highly nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The coconut palm is so highly valued by Asian and Pacific populations as both a source of food and medicine that it is called “The Tree of Life.”

It is important to note that there are a lot of unsubstantiated claims about the benefits of coconut water, which is being marketing as an after-sport drink. That aside, coconut water and milk are delicious and refreshing, and perfect to enjoy in the hot months as well as the cool.

Coconut water is the natural juice that is found inside the coconut, while coconut milk is made by boiling equal amounts of water and shredded coconut together until they are foamy, when they are then strained.

So, if you’re looking for a great tasting way to hydrate, check out these deliciously refreshing beverages. Go ahead, put aside your soft drink and go tropical.
